Technical Writer – Remote (WFH)

Position Summary: Cognitive is seeking a Technical Writer who will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and work with our development teams to ensure accuracy of product descriptions.


Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
Draft and disseminate client-facing and internal meeting minutes
Draft and edit monthly reports

Required Skills:

Experience in documenting technical content, including JSON, APIs, software specifications, product release notes, and product user guides
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Strong attention to detail
Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking

Required Education, Experience, and Clearance:

Bachelor’s Degree
Proven experience working in a technical writing position
Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust – Medium Background Investigation (MBI)
US Citizenship required

Nice to Have:

Experience supporting healthcare applications
