About the role:

Samsara is seeking a Strategic Planner – Projects to support our growing WW Planning team. In this role, you will partner with Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Product, RD, and other teams to understand our full product manufacturing and sales cycle. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify go-to-market, deliver market insights on customer trends, evaluate key sourcing assumptions, and provide subject matter expertise to executive stakeholders and the rest of the Planning team. Ideal candidates should be curious learners with experience in SaaS pricing analytics and benchmarking, be able to drive new processes and tools, and be comfortable translating large amounts of data into actionable insights.

This role is fully remote and can be based out of Canada or the US, reporting to the Director of WW Planning.

In this role, you will:

Scope and own high-impact projects that don’t fit neatly within one team’s scope within the Operations org, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure holistic solutions.
Assist in developing the Planning strategic roadmap (demand and supply) over the next 3-5 years, measuring and reporting progress on programs in flight.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decisions and gaining buy-in from key executive stakeholders.
Cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders and customers, understanding their needs and how Samsara can meet them.
Contribute to functional strategy, improving processes based on a comprehensive understanding of Samsara‘s mission and strategic goals.
Establish a deep understanding of Samsara’s business, products, and company priorities to assist Demand Planners and Supply Planners with insights for new programs/features, customer trends, and continuous improvement.
Use technical expertise to efficiently gather new data, automate data processing, and implement tools and best practices for data management.
Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

Degree in a relevant analytical field (e.g. finance/economics/mathematics/computer science/data science).
8+ years (or 6+ with Masters) of combined experience in consulting and supply chain planning, demand planning, business planning, or project management.
Demonstrated results in creating and implementing scalable standard operating procedures, performance metrics, and feedback mechanisms.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to clearly lay out assumptions, risks, and opportunities in logical models.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to quickly synthesize information in a digestible format for a wide variety of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to structure problems, focus on detail and accuracy, and ability to respond creatively with flexibility to issues.
Ability to define best practices for data collection processes, translate data into insights, and drive impact.
History of collaboration across technical non-technical teams with strong relationship-building skills.
Proven strategic business thinker who keeps the desired outcome in mind while driving results.

An ideal candidate also has:

Passion for building a world-class customer experience (internal and external).
Prior experience using Databricks, NetSuite, Salesforce, and e2open.
Proficiency with applied SQL/data querying languages, BI/visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI), Excel/Google Sheets, R, Python, or other analysis tools.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably within SaaS-based technology companies.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$94,775$122,650 CAD
