RebelCode: Senior Developer

Headquarters: Malta

At RebelCode, we’ve spent the past decade building WordPress plugins into successful tools that are used by over 100,000+ people around the world. Throughout this time, we’ve remained a small, bootstrapped team with a dedication for building the best possible products.
We’re now looking for a Senior Developer to join our team and take ownership of the technical aspects of our WordPress plugins’ development.

The Senior Developer Role

As a Senior Developer at RebelCode, you’ll play a pivotal role in steering our flagship WordPress plugins towards new heights. These plugins aren’t just tools; they are the heart of our company’s product line, and are making a significant impact in their markets.
Here’s a quick introduction to the plugins themselves:
Aggregator is the original RSS importer plugin for WordPress with over 50k active installations and thousands of paying customers. It has been rebuilt from the ground up over the past 18 months and is due to be relaunched in the coming weeks.
Spotlight is a top-notch Instagram feed plugin for WordPress that has grown to over 50k active installations in just 3 years. It is now a leading solution in its market that is recommended by the biggest names in the WordPress ecosystem.
You will be the driving force behind these plugins’ ongoing development, refinement, and expansion, ensuring they continue to stand out in a competitive market.

Your Day-to-Day

Your day-to-day will involve a mix of hands-on coding and strategic planning. This means diving into the codebase to innovate and troubleshoot, as well as stepping back to assess and define the broader technical roadmap.
You will work closely with our Product Manager, Marketing Manager, and Support Specialist to constantly improve and build upon the existing products. Your expertise will guide decisions on all technical aspects to ensure we deliver a top-notch user experience.

Your Responsibilities

As the Senior Developer on our team, you will:

Be the technical expert within the team.

Design and implement complex features and systems.
Solve any and all technical problems within the products.
Ensure code quality through code reviews and best practices.
Stay up-to-date with new technologies and integrate them when appropriate.
Provides mentorship and technical guidance to new junior developers in the future.

Other areas such as product management, UI/UX design, and team coordination are the responsibility of the other respective members of the team.
